British Columbia wildfires: We're here to support customers affected by the wildfires in British Columbia. Claims can be reported at 1-866-MY-AVIVA (1-866-692-8482) or online here. As a reminder, new business property policies can't be bound if they're within 50 km of an area that's under a wildfire alert or evacuation order (this doesn't impact renewals). Barrie, Ontario tornado: In the aftermath of the tornado in Barrie, Ontario, we’re reminding customers to be aware of two ongoing scams in the area. There have been reports of contractors approaching damaged homes promising quick repairs with payment for immediate work and a deposit for future work. There are also individuals going door-to-door claiming to work for hydro company Alectra Inc. and requesting cash to perform home inspections. Please advise your customers of these scams and have them speak to you or their adjuster if they have any questions or concerns.
